June

June has come and is almost gone now. We got 2 new beehives this month: Haley McLelland and McKayla Landon. Welcome to the hive girls!!! Girls camp is in a week!!! I hope you all are excited. More information to come later this week. Just a reminder that you all need to fast on Sunday that you will gain a stronger knowledge of who you are... I.K.W.I.A (I know who I am)

May Madness!!!

This month we will receive 2 new Beehives: Baylie Riggs and Madelyn Moses!!! Yippee!!!! Welcome to the Hive Girls! Baylies birthday is May 20th and Madelyn's is on May 25th. Our Ward Camp Kickoff was a blast! I thought the Athletic events were very funny to watch! I did get them on video. I will try to download them. On May 26th meet at the church at 6:55 pm. We are having a combined YW activity.

Things to look forward to in June:

June 2nd: Combined YW... Nature Scavenger Hunt. We will be meeting at Sis. Chase's house @ 6pm... BRING WATER!!!!!!! and Tennis shoes!

June 6th: New Beehive Haley McLellands Birthday!

June 9th: Joint YM/YW

June 13th: Akaila also known as KK will be leaving us for MiaMaids :(

June 16th: Combined YW- To be announced later

June 23rd: HIKE!! YOU ALL MUST BE PRESENT!! We are hiking up to Silver Lake Res. Bring a lunch and Water! Bring a backpack with a towel if you want to get wet.

Creation Project

Hey girls!!! Just a reminder that you need to be working on your creation Projects. If you need help let your honk n run advisor know. I still need to know from my girls: Brooke, Savannah, and Lacy what you are planning on doing. Let me know a.s.a.p. Sis. J

April

Not much happened in April. The only Birthday we had this month was Sis. Williamsons on the 12th. No new beehives this month. On the 14th we had a really fun joint activity... Cash Cab. Way to go you beehive girls that ROCKED that game... You know who you are! On the 28th we are to meet at my house and make the posters for the Yard Sale. Show up at 7pm. The Yard Sale is on Sat. May 1st, be there at 7am. We are incharge of selling the food. I will talk to you more about that on Wed. Looking ahead..... May 4th (Tuesday) is Camp Kickoff, everyone that is going to girls camp MUST be there. There will not be any YW the following day (May 5th). We lose McKell on the 12th :( but will be getting 2 new beehive that month. Baylie on the 20th and Madelyn on the 25th.

March Madness!!

It is March... ready for some FUN??? This month we have 2 new girls coming in: Alyssa Laird on the 5th, and Lacy Holliday on the 26th. We are so excited!!! Also Sis. Mortezazadeh's birthday is on the 5th, St. Patrick's day is on the 17th (wear green and lots of it!), and Sis. Johnson's birthday is on the 25th. We are going to have fun becoming FRIENDS this month, going to Angela Johnson's studio and even doing a little Zumba!

Brownie Recipes

Thanks to Rachel Chase for teaching us how to make AWESOME Brownies!! Below are the recipes:

Best brownie base:

1 cup butter
1/3 cup cocoa
2 cups sugar

Beat them together

add:
4 eggs
1 1/2 cups flour
2 tsp vanilla

mix really well

Pour into a greased 9x13 pan. Bake @ 350 for 20-25 mins.

Basic Chocolate frosting:

6 Tbsp softened butter
6 Tbsp cocoa
2 Tbsp corn syrup
1 tsp vanilla

cream butter, cocoa, corn syrup, vanilla in a bowl

add:
2 cups powdered sugar
2-3 Tbsp milk

Mix until creamy

Mint Frosting:

1/2 cup butter
1 1/3 cup powdered sugar
2-4 Tbsp canned milk
1 tsp. mint flavoring

Mix till creamy

Cream Cheese layer: mix this and add before you bake the brownie base

1/4 cup butter
8 oz. cream cheese softened
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
2 Tbsp flour
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp almond extract

Mix all ingredients until smooth. Pour the cream cheese layer on top of your brownie base and swirl it with a knife before baking it at 350 for 20-25 mins.

February update

Alot of things have happened so far this month. First we lost Kyndal and Jordana to the Mia Maids, next we got a new Beehive Presidency: Pres- Natalie, 1st counselor- Shannon, 2nd counselor- Savannah, Sec.- Brooke. I look forward to working with you gals!!! This weeks activity is Square dancing and line dancing with the YM's. Next week is New Beginnings @ 7pm. The following week is Bridge the Gap. I will know forsure this week who that will be. We have to get ready Beehives, we have 2 new little "Bees" coming into our Hive next month...
